The Best Visits    

are ones

where I don't turn the radio on

 in the car ride home

because 

I don't want to break

the spell.

Choosing instead

to bask 

in friendship's lingering glow.

Smiling to myself

while replaying 

snippets of conversations.

Chuckling

at remembered laughter.

Extending the feeling.

Making it last

Just a

 little bit 

longer.
